Central Coast Safe Water Resources
Water Quality Testing
- Water from your well can be tested for contamination to determine if it is safe to use for drinking, cooking, and other daily home uses.
- The Central Coast Regional Water Board provides free well testing to households in the region who get their drinking water from a domestic well.
- Through this program, your well will be tested for groundwater contaminants known to pose a risk to public health, such as nitrate, arsenic, chromium-6 and 1,2,3-Trichloropropane (1,2,3-TCP). See a full list here.
- Find out if you are eligible for this free program by calling (831) 500-2677.
Bottled Water
- You must provide well testing results to be eligible. If your well has not been tested in the last year, you are encouraged to apply for the well-testing program described here before you apply for bottled water.
- For more information and to see if your household is eligible, please contact Shirley Robles at shirley.robles@communitywatercenter.org or (831) 500-2677.
